So much for that. I have been sidelined by yet another sinus infection. Ugh. This also seems to have settled nicely in my chest.

I have stuck to the plan as far as eating goes. I was doing good with exercising each day, but the last two days I have just felt too awful to even think about it.

I was feeling really great before I got sick. I am going to make a doctor's appointment here as soon as I am done here. The last time I felt like this, it lasted for over two weeks. Screw that. Bring on the antibiotics. Pfft.

So the eating is going well. I am supposed to be eating every two to three hours. That did not happen today as I took a bloody four hour nap. Grr. Did not mean too. All I had was Nyquil, so I took some and it knocked me OUT. I just had my lunch, some of last night's left over chili. It was even better today. It is chock full of veggies and beans and I used ground turkey instead of beef. It actually came out very tasty.

Of course, a serving is a cup and a half. I easily just ate two and a half cups. Ah well. Not gonna beat myself up over it. I am doing very well over all.

I am really hoping that tomorrow I can ramp up the exercise.

Day 4

Today is Day 4. This is a 21 day program designed to kick start my metabolism. It is working. I am hungry right when I get up, which is unheard of with me. I am hungry every two to two and a half hours, which is unheard of with me. These are all good things. It is how it SHOULD be. It means my body is doing what it is supposed to. Yay!

One thing I have noticed, is that with all that water i drank yesterday? I am so not thirsty today at all. I had wanted to get in my eight 12 ounce glasses but I can tell you right now, it is not going to happen. And I am not going to feel guilty about it. I am just NOT thirsty at all. I have had 2 waters today and a Coke Zero with lunch.

Speaking of lunch. Struggling there. I had a roast beef sammich on whole wheat with a slice of cheese and minimal mayo. Oh and a ton of greens. That is it. That makes up what I am supposed to have... one protein, one fast carb (bread, cheese) and one slow carb (greens). My hubby had chips with his. I caved. I checked what a serving size of chips was, then took half that. I GOTTA have chips with my sammy.

I think a work around for this would be to have a salad, put the meat in the salad and then bake a pita and have 'pita chips'...

The chips were not bad. They are on our list of approved snacks, so I am not going to beat myself up over it. Next time though, I have to make a better choice.

This mornings breakfast was the veggie omelet with sausage and a piece of toast. It was delish.

We got in a good, brisk walk, and then walked around a bit more, exploring. The walk up the hill was good, I broke a sweat! But now? I own it. Just a few days ago I had to stop half way up, now, I am pushing fast up that hill!

Out of curiosity, I stepped on the scale. I swore I would not do that until day 21. But well, it was there, and I was curious. Curious because none of my pants fit!!

I am a size (guh) 22. These jeans always fit me just right. I am sure I could have squeezed into an 18/20, but then I would be uncomfy. I do not like my clothes tight. So, these 22s, I can take them all off and on without unbuttoning them anymore. I am constantly pulling them up and my undies have enough room now that they keep creeping and giving me wedgies.

The scale showed no movement. That is ok. My clothes DO show something. I will take it!!

Dinner tonight is chicken drumsticks (minus the skin for me!) whole wheat pasta with pesto and tomatoes, and steamed veggies. I am going to have just a 1/4 cup of the pasta.. enough to satisfy my craving, and have a salad.

I need to try to suck down this water. And one with my snack. If I can have one with dinner and then one with my snack later this evening, I will be good.

*floats*

Bring on Day 5!

Day 3

Day 3 went very well. I totally forgot to log in here and blog. oopsy. I AM keeping a paper journal as well, and I DID take the time to do that.

I went for a good walk, nothing major as this place is all hills and I am so not used to that. I started a walking program that just has you walking no more than 15 minutes the first week. Yesterday I was to walk for a total of 15 minutes. So, after getting the wee one on the bus, I took off down the hill, around the block, down another hill, and then turned to come back up another hill towards the house. The walks I took on days 1 and 2 required me to stop for just a second coming up that big hill. Yesterday I did not have to stop at all. :)

I ate well. I had a veggie omelet with egg whites, one small (1/2 dollar size) turkey sausage patty, 1/2 onion bagel and green tea. I had a snack two hours later, then lunch was a whole wheat pita pizza topped with mushrooms and peppers and onion. It was SO good. Dinner was leftovers. I had a small piece of steak left over so I cut it up,cut up some onion and mushrooms and cooked it up a bit with some olive oil spray and then tossed it onto a heaping pile of salad greens. I used one tablespoon of BBQ sauce, dipping my fork into it before each bite. It was delish. And satisfying.

I did not have any soda yesterday. Go me.

I made some mousse for dessert. It was in the cabinet and each serving was 160 calories. My snacks need to be less than 200, so, it was a wonderful dessert! I drank 5 20 ounce bottles of water yesterday and two green teas! I peed a LOT yesterday. LOL

And that is that. I went to bed at 10:30, but had quite a restless night. Hoping for better sleep next time!

Day 3 a success!

Day 2

Well, today did not start out so well. I got up at 6, got cleaned up and dressed. Got the kidlet up and ready for school. I took my meds right away and tried to clear my head. I carry around a lot of negativity, mainly directed at myself. I know that it is unhealthy and that I need to let it go. So each morning I try to remove the negative voices in my head.

I got the kidlet on the bus. And instead of going for my walk like I should have done, I looked around at the darkness, shivered, and went inside. I had a fruit cup (pears packed in water) and went back to bed.

Where I slept until 11:30.

Really? Ugh. I had way too much to do today to have stayed in bed all morning. I am battling some depression and I am just not sure what to do about it. I have no insurance. I can barely afford my thyroid meds. So, my only choice is to just DEAL. Which, as you can see, I am not very good at doing.

I got up, again told myself that it was ok, to not go all crazy and beat myself up over it, and I came down stairs. I made a tuna sammich on whole wheat with just a smidge of miracle whip, a slice of cheese and a ton of lettuce-y things. I also had a serving of tostitos and some salsa. And a Coke Zero. Not the best choice there, but I am trying to phase the soda out. It is the one thing I cannot give up all willy-nilly. I had not had any soda since Saturday, so I am doing better!

No alcohol since Saturday either. I had a beer at a cousins party that day, and a half of a Dr. Pepper. The rest of that day I drank water.

I like my rum. It is no secret. I am part Pirate .. *winks*
And on the nights that Survivor is on, the hubby and I always have a drink. I am going to miss that very much. I tried to justify it many, many ways. "But this is what we have always done!" "It won't be the same!" "It will just be a Wednesday night!"

Bullshit. If it is here, we will drink it. Not every night. But Wednesday will lead into Friday and Saturday.. Bah. No. I want to lose this weight. And if I can't put off the Captain to do that, then I cannot really want it all that bad.

Hell, if I cannot put off the Captain, then there is a larger problem than my weight.. yah know?

Anyway, going for a walk now since I missed it this morning. I have a healthy dinner on deck, and my snacks lined up as well. I will not let my morning ruin the rest of this day..

Until tomorrow...

Day 1

My mom bought the Food Lover's Fat Loss dealio for me. I read through everything. It seems like a good idea to give it a go. As the NIKE slogan goes "Just DO IT!"

Day 1 in progress. So far for breakfast I had a hot green tea and half an onion bagel with a smidge of whipped cream cheese. And a spoon of peanut butter.

For a snack I had a TLC honey and almond bar and a water.

For lunch I had a reduced sodium turkey sammich on toasted whole wheat bread, with mustard, relish, a few bacon bits, cheese, a ton of lettuce, some cucumber, and some salsa and tostitos.

It was quite tasty.
This plan starts you out kind of slow. Today all I had to do was eat a snack between my meals. Although I went ahead and started eating healthier right from the get-go.
We even cleaned out the cabinets recently and got rid of all the 'bad', processed stuff.

I am about to go upstairs to take 'before' photos and to take measurements.
Tomorrow morning I weigh in. I forgot this morning. DUH.

I am on my 3rd 20 oz. water. I have had 2 servings of green tea today, and two coffees with my friend Jenny. I have been peeing A LOT.

My goal here is to lose about 80 pounds, become leaner and stronger and healthier over all. I want to be a good role model for my daughter. I want my self-esteem OUT of the shitter.

I must say nice things about myself each day in hopes of soon believing them!

The coolest thing about this program is that no foods are off limits. It encourages you to make healthy choices, but if you want pizza, you can have it. It is all about portion control, keeping your metabolism going, and just working on being a better you. Or, me, in this case. :)

Failure is not an option.
